Read Receipt

Note: This feature will only work between accounts at Burke. The feature is not supported in regular Gmail.


Drafting your Message

  1. When you are writing an email, notice the 3 dots near the bottom of the email you are writing.
  2. Click the three dots to see "more options".
  3. Click on the "Request Read Receipt"

Once an email message has been set to Request a Read Receipt,  you will see the option is checked. You can click this option again to turn off the request.

Once you have made the setting you wish, you can complete your email and send it. After sending your message you will not be able to change the receipt option.

Receipt requests will be sent to every recipient in the To: and Cc: fields. It does not send a request to recipients in the Bcc: field.

Once the message has been read you’ll receive an email telling you the date and time that your message was seen by the recipient.
