Firefox keeps all of its data in one location, including settings, bookmarks, cookies, and any addons you may have installed. Sometimes, if your Firefox is acting up enough, the best way to fix it is to delete this data — your user profile.
In the Finder (click the background or the smiley face in your Dock to switch to the Finder) go to File > New Finder Window…
Open the Library folder, then the Application Support folder.
Move the Firefox folder to your desktop. When you next open Firefox, it will set up a new, clean profile. You can import your bookmarks from your old profile — come see us for help on this, or read the next section if you're feeling sassy.

To import your bookmarks back, open Firefox, go to the Bookmarks menu, and select Organize Bookmarks… (alternatively, just hit shift-⌘-B). A window will open that allows you to edit and organize your bookmarks. In the toolbar of this window, click the star icon and choose Import HTML…
Now navigate to your desktop, find your old Firefox folder, and look inside it. Go into the Profiles folder, then a folder whose name is a crazy string of letters and numbers with ".default" at the end. Open the "bookmarks.html" file in here. This contains your old bookmarks!
