Aware Toolbar

Updated:

This toolbar lets you send content from Microsoft applications to your SmartBoard presentations. It makes programs crash a lot. If you don't need or want it, you can turn it off:

  1. Click the Finder icon in the Dock to open a new Finder window.
  2. Click Applications in the sidebar.
  3. Open the SMART Technologies folder.
  4. Open the Control Panel.
  5. Click "Configure SMART Tools" on the left.
  6. Click "Ink Aware Program Settings."
  7. Uncheck the boxes for the programs you don't want to have the toolbar any more.
  8. Click OK in all windows.
Here are some issues I've seen caused by these tools:
  • Excel crashing while making graphs in the Chart Wizard
  • PowerPoint crashing while rearranging slides using the Slide Sorter
