The System Preferences can be used to change various system settings. You can access the System Preferences by clicking its Dock icon.
Although you do not have access to all of the settings, you do have access to some, so go ahead and personalize your Mac experience. (Most of the settings for changing your account's appearance, such as your background picture, are in Desktop & Screen Saver and General)
