Using a free web tool, you can save video (or audio) from Youtube to use in your own video productions. The download seems to work best on a laptop. You can then airdrop the video to an iPad if that's the device you are using. [The video I used to find out this did the whole thing on an ipad, but I couldn't get the download to work successfully.]
- Go to Youtube and get the share URL for the video you want. If you don't want the entire video, you can set the download to start at a certain point in the video.
- In a web browser, go to clipconverter.cc (it's free). Enter the video URL and click "continue."
- Select file format (MP4) and size.
- Click "Start"
- Once it converts the video, select "download." At this point, it will open a browser window and convert the video to display in your browser.
- When that is done (it may take a while) click the download icon at the bottom of your video. It will then transfer your file to your downloads folder.
- Once it is downloaded, use airdrop to send it to your ipad. It will go to the camera roll.
